I enjoyed the anime, I will give it 8/10 I knew it was a spin off but is not the same without Kazuma and Aqua, I wonder if they are going to make spin off about darkness? I know season 3 it's coming in 2024

Nope, all her story is in the main story already, same for Aqua.

Don't underestimate the power of money. We also didn't need this anime AT ALL since all it has was already on and Konosuba yet here we are. Don't think Darkness has enough pull for an original story on her own but it would be damn more entertaining to see her antics than this anime that does gives us anything we didn't already knew.

It's a prequel, not a spin-off. The last bit of this episode shows one of the first episodes of Konosuba.

oh mb, i thought you were one of those megumin-obsessed weirdos who wouldn't accept anybody giving this show a rating less than 10/10, and took it as such. But I completely agree with you, this was quite generic, and I only stuck it out because I enjoy the original konosuba. I gave it a 7.5 because I still find megumin to be a funny character, and it'll give me more context for future seasons of konosuba if they ever release

But 7.5 because of basically previous and maybe future stuff... is not describing the current. :D So basically the 7.5 is an overrate as how you explained it and actually it would be less if you just consider this.

She doesn't really bully her, though. Just teases her. Yunyun knows Megumin cares about her. It's wholesome, but they do like putting that "rival" front, and Megumin has to be stern because of how naïve Yunyun can be.

I dont see that much of a spin-off than a prequel. A spin-off would be someone outside the main group… like. The necromancer. The hero guy. That one rogue girl.

If u meant the girl that's always with Darkness, she's actually Eris, so I don't think there will be a spin-off, for the same reason as Aqua. Tho, there is a spin-off manga about her and Kazuma being a thief gang collecting divine relics.
I do wish there will hopefully be some OVAs showing the past of Wiz, Darkness's awakening to M, and maybe some of the other supporting characters. Like how did Chris meet Darkness and become friends too?

After 6 years since Konosuba S2 and and almost 4 years since Legend of Crimson dropped in Japanese theateres, Konosuba is back with the Megumin spinoff! The Megumin spinoff is brought to you by studio Drive, the studio behind To Your Eternity S2, Vlad Love, Teppen, and the upcoming Konosuba S3!

I gotta say, it's damn good to see Michael Bay's daughter again, this time in the spotlight of her very own show, this has been Rie Takahashi's year! Who would've thought that one of the best anime of 2016 would still be memed to this day, gain a movie, a spinoff, and finally a 3rd season after all this time?

For starters, I love Takahashi and Aki Toyosaki as Megumin and Yunyun respectively! The comedy is just as hilarious here as it was in Konosuba. Honestly funny people look at Kaminaki like "But it's a parody guys!" or look at Isekai Smartphone S2 like "It's not THAT bad." Meanwhile this show has better comedy, and didn't Isekai Smartphone S1 air the same year as Konosuba S2? Really people?

And it's nice to see the cameos of those like Kazuma, Aqua, Darkness, Wiz, and Mitsurugi to name a few. And like with Mayu Maeshima with Re:Zero, can you REALLY call this a Konosuba experience without Machico singing the OP?

Overall, whether you're a fantasy fan or a diehard Konosuba fan, this is a must watch. This is easily one of the best shows this season for me, and seeing Drive handle this and TYE S2, I have confidence they'll do S3 of Konosuba justice! This is Danmachi Sword Oratoria done right. This show is indeed an explosion to look forward to!
Final Verdict: 8/10

Season 3 comes out sometime in 2024 so we will find out then
